The Freshman Success Academy

The Freshman Success Academy is a self-contained school-within-a-school with interdisciplinary teacher teams designed to provide ninth-graders a smooth transition to high school in a caring, respectful environment.

The Freshman Success Academy enrolls no more than 150 students, and all students in the academy work with teacher teams that focus solely on the ninth grade. During their freshman year at Chicago Talent, all students are also enrolled in Freshman Seminar, a transition-to-high-school course that emphasizes the study skills, social skills, and career and post-secondary planning skills necessary to succeed in high school, and beyond.
