Paul Fagen, Communities in Schools of Chicago Site Coordinator

Paul Fagen Paul Fagen, LCSW, received his Masters degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago in 1998. Since then, he has worked primarily with youth in a variety of settings, including high schools, elementary schools, and hospitals. Most recently, he worked directly for Chicago Public Schools, helping high schools around the city better address the social & emotional needs of their students by coordinating the behavioral supports in their buildings. Paul has additional training in both trauma and its impact on the behavior of young people, and the role of social emotional learning to improve school culture. Paul is also a professional actor here in Chicago.

Jacqueline L Thomas, School Transformation Facilitator

Paul Fagen Jacqui Thomas has worked nearly 30 years in the field of education. Twenty of those years were spent in the classroom teaching secondary English, reading, history, speech, and drama. Having served both rural and urban communities, her experience has sparked a passion for creating student success. Working in a groundbreaking school reform program to increase the high school graduation rate, Thomas successfully worked in partnership with Johns Hopkins University Talent Development High Schools as an instructional specialist at Chicago Public Schools from 2003-2010. Jacqui is ecstatic to once again be a part of the Talent Development Secondary team as a School Transformation Facilitator serving CTDCHS in the nationally acclaimed partnership reform model, Diplomas Now. Jacqui's motto is "Encourage one another and build each other up", a principle she strives to practice daily.
